The busyness of death

They say you can either get busy living, or get busy dying. But then, they have never known the unending toil of preparing for death. I will remember these days as the longest month of my life - scuttling to and fro, brushing desiccated spiders from old boxes, losing myself in paperwork and childhood mementos, entertaining an endless array of well-meaning guests.

The truth is, you can tell you are truly alive when you can simply choose to do nothing at all.
