Arrivals

It's been so long since I've been home. Driving in from the airport, the streets feel foreign to me after weeks away. In my haze, I give the cab driver wrong directions. But as I fumble my way inside our condo, the familiarity of home rushes up to greet me. Our bed feels so good, and between the sheets I begin to remember the pieces of my life here, how they all fit together.

It's only been a couple of hours since we parted ways in the Seattle airport, and already I miss you terribly. I miss your hand in mine and your tender kiss and the comfort of your constant company. Our bed feels empty without you, and I know it will be a long week until you come home to me, my love, my soul mate.
